Change in the points system for the site:
Under the new system users need to reach a threshold to 2,100 points to achieve the status of “learned”. Points are awarded as follows:
- 1,000 each for registering
- 1,000 for uploading an avatar
- 50 points for each edit.
The aim of this is to allow users to become learned fairly fast - but to require them to make at least two edits first to learn the ropes. The league table of users is compiled automatically.
There is not meant to be a great deal of competition...which can be seen from the system of user levels
The ethos of this site is that everybody's focus should be on making the resource as good as it can be. If you would like to contribute - the most effective way is to pick a subject from the Wanted Pages list and start on an article. Be brave!
